This wonderful book is a pleasure to have around the house—at times, I skim through it, looking at the beautiful paintings in vibrant colors, and in a variety of styles, topics and media (most are oil-on-canvas); at times, I read the author’s musings next to the paintings (the books is laid out with full page paintings on the left and text on the right), which send me in to thoughtful reveries.Essentially, the book is about an artist’s pursuit in existence, as the title tells us. The artist & author, Bharti, asks us to “read out aloud as you go from page to page of introspection”. So we find anecdotes, deep thoughts, personal stories, and reflections on society, the universe, and religion. The writing is deeply honest, brave and unfiltered. People that enjoy Anthony de Mello or Osho will find the peaceful, spiritual, and profound musings a joy to read. The author’s observations on nature are truly great.
I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
